چکیده

We study the propagation of one-dimentional optical beams in a weakly nonlocal medium exhibiting cubic-quintic nonlinearity. A nonlinear equation governing evolution beam intensity is derived thereby which allows us to examine whether traveling-waves exist such material. An efficient transformation applied obtain explicit solutions envelope model presence all material parameters. find that variety periodic waves accompanied with chirp do system weak nonlocality. Chirped localized dips on continuous-wave background as well solitary bright and dark types are obtained long wave limit. class propagating chirped self-similar also identified consideration inhomogeneities media. The applications structures discussed by considering distributed amplification system.

Chirped Self-similar Pulse Propagation in Cubic-quintic Media

We consider nonlinear propagation of optical pulses in a cubic-quintic nonlinear medium wherein the pulse propagation is governed by the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with varying dispersion, nonlinearity and gain/loss. Using the self-similar analysis, we present the generation of chirped bright solitons in the anomalous dispersion regime as well as the normal dispersion regime und...

Swift-Hohenberg equation with broken cubic-quintic nonlinearity.

The cubic-quintic Swift-Hohenberg equation (SH35) provides a convenient order parameter description of several convective systems with reflection symmetry in the layer midplane, including binary fluid convection. We use SH35 with an additional quadratic term to determine the qualitative effects of breaking the midplane reflection symmetry on the properties of spatially localized structures in t...

Two-dimensional solitary waves in media with quadratic and cubic nonlinearity

We determine the existence and stability regimes of bright 211-dimensional spatial solitary waves in media with quadratic ~or x ! and focusing cubic nonlinearities. We derive a necessary criterion for linear stability of these solitons, and use it to show that the quadratic nonlinearity enables stable solitons to exist when the cubic nonlinearity is sufficiently weak. We discuss why the Vakhito...

Nonlocal dark solitons under competing cubic-quintic nonlinearities.

We investigate properties of dark solitons under competing nonlocal cubic-local quintic nonlinearities. Analytical results, based on a variational approach and confirmed by direct numerical simulations, reveal the existence of a unique dark soliton solutions with their width being independent of the degree of nonlocality, due to the competing cubic-quintic nonlinearities.
